March 8th, International Women’s Day – A Day Without A Woman

by Nova

Join us on March 8th for International Women’s Day – A Day Without A Woman. Our store will be open from 11am to 3pm, hosting anyone who wants to meet up, have tea, and make signs in preparation for the march, which starts at 4pm. We will leave from the store at 3pm, and anyone who wants to come along with us as we make our way to Washington Square Park is welcome to do so. We have some markers, but please bring your own poster-board and any other supplies you’d like to use.

Before the March: Come by the store any time between 11am-3pm.  159 N 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211

Rally & March: 4pm, Washington Square Park. At 5:30 the march will start making it’s way to Zuccotti Park. More info about the march is available on the Facebook even page.

Here are a few things you can do to participate in the strike, even if you are unable to join a march:

  • Wear red in solidarity
  • Do not engage in paid or unpaid work
  • Avoid spending money

Even if you are unable to stay away from work without risk of loosing your job (which we definitely don’t want!) you can still wear red and avoid spending money by packing your own lunch.

More info and more bullets for participating in the strike are available on the International Women’s Strike website.
